Cray Cray Clouds
I was tracking the weather and heard that there was a bad storm moving into my area. Anytime that happens, it means there could be some serious opportunities to capture a great photo! Well, I packed up and drove to the lake to wait for the storm to develop. It took about an hour of waiting, but I finally started seeing tons of crazy clouds streaking over the sky with really fast movement.
Only one thing came to mind when I started seeing how fast the clouds were moving….LONG EXPOSURE! For those who don’t know what that is, it means that the camera is set up on a tripod with the shutter left open for 30 seconds or longer. When you leave the shutter open that long, everything stationary remains in focus, and anything that is moving creates motion blur. That is why the log and tree line are in focus, but the clouds are large blurry streaks. Enjoy!
