What is Street Photography?
To me, street photography is like holding up a mirror to society. it’s very often the art of creating a very dynamic image while being distanced from your subject. On the other hand, it can be also be very personal and dramatic portraits of a subject that you might have made a special connection with while walking the streets. It is a beautiful art form and one of the most challenging as well.
The Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival
Fortunately, I live in a very active town when it comes to festivals, so I love getting out on the street and capturing the culture of my community while tasting it as well :-). For anyone wanting to try street photography, festivals are one of the greatest places. Tons of interesting people, great food, and you won’t look weird pointing your camera everywhere. When you’re shooting in downtown areas and no events are going on, you have to be a little more stealthy while taking photos to avoid possible confrontation. I have published two photos below that I took at the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival. I hope you enjoy them!
